On-trend white denim for spring!
White denim is so chic and such a huge trend right now. If you haven’t tried white jeans or a white jean jacket before, this is the time to try it! I love how chic and fresh an all-white outfit looks. I styled it with this pink floral top, pink Nine West heels, and pink Coach handbag. I think this whole outfit screams springtime!

For mature women, when choosing white jeans I recommend a high waisted straight leg or flare style rather than a white skinny jean. This looks more sophisticated and classy, as white skinny jeans tend to look a little to tight and can easily highlight any imperfections. Never underestimate the power of your shoes! Your shoes make a more significant statement than you may think. The same outfit can go from a super casual daytime look with a pair of white trainers to dinner and date night just by changing into a pair of red heels.

I often see women with a look that is just a little off. Most of the time, a simple shoe change would make all the difference. This can go both ways. A heel at a soccer game on a Saturday is just as out of place as a trainer is out of place at a fine restaurant on Saturday evening. Your choice of shoes and handbag has more impact than you think. I quite often take a second pair of shoes with me when I’m out and about for a long day which can allow me to go from grocery store to dinner.

We need to be careful of trends that are not becoming for mature women.  As a woman over 50 or 60, there are combinations that you should stay away from. The first is the current trend of wearing trainers with a dress. This trend can make an older woman look like a bag lady. The second trend is never to wear a super high heel with a mini skirt. This is just untasteful and unflattering on mature women.

Last but not least, crocks and Burkistock style shoes are no-nos for the on-trend woman. These are just aging and very unflattering for even young women, much less us older ones. We are living in an age when we have all kinds of very comfortable and attractive shoes to choose from. Even if you can’t wear high heels there are lower kitten heels and wedge style shoes to chose from.  Today, there are all kinds of pretty flats and ballet slippers as well as great-looking loafers and booties if you’re unable to wear heels.

Don’t be afraid of a pop of color, A bright red, blue, or even yellow shoe can take your outfit to the next level. Metallic shoes are having a moment right now as well. Gold, silver, etc. can also elevate your look. Have some fun with your shoes! I know we all love a nude-colored shoe, I have several myself. Just think outside the box and put on a shoe that adds a pop of color. It will add joy to your day!

Happy Wednesday, fashionistas!
Some style of jean is what I start with every day to build an outfit! I love to wear jeans; they are what I feel most comfortable wearing. You can dress them up or down and style them in so many ways! My favorite high-end jeans are Good American, frame, Citizens of Humanity, agolde. For more affordable. I love Express jeans, and the Sofia Vergara brand, and Universal Thread.

At 61 years young, I always buy high waisted jeans. I don’t even own any jeans that are low or mid-rise. If you have problems with the dreaded muffin top, then you need to switch to wearing high waisted styles! I also love skinny, straight, bootcut, flare, boyfriend, and the mom jean style! Hello fashionistas, I love these tops from Covered Perfectly! My favorite style top is the V neck 3/4 sleeve top! This style top is so flattering for mature women. I also like the fact that the V neck is not too low, so if you tend to be a bit more blessed in the bust department you don’t have to worry about showing too much cleavage.

I also like the quality, they are well made. All there tops come in different colors and some in cute prints. The V neck is such a great basic that can be styled with so many outfits, I like to tuck it in or wear it out and belted.

I am very impressed with their clothing, All styles are very forgiving and figure-flattering no matter your shape. They have a wide range of sizes from S, M, L, XL, 1XL, 2XL and can accommodate many different body shapes; apple or pear, straight, or hourglass. Women of all sizes and shapes are beautiful!

They make their clothes out of a fabric called MicroModal that feels good on the skin and is cool when women have hot flashes! I also love that almost everything is available in so many different color choices.
