Hello Fashionistas, summertime brings our legs out of hiding. LOL! My legs are very light. I have such a fair complexion you can see some blueish tone veins under my skin. No matter if you show a lot or a little leg in the summer, as we get older, our skin shows our age. We can have dry skin, age spots, varicose veins, stretch marks, and discoloration, etc. With the no pantyhose bare leg fashion, it is yet another thing we need a form of makeup to correct. Many women use self-tanners, but for the mature woman, this is not always the best because it can enhance dry spots and other imperfections more than it can help.
What works best for me is a product from the drug store that has been around for years. I love the Salley Hansen Airbrush legs! It does just that! Your legs look airbrushed. It makes my 60-year-old legs look years younger and hides all my imperfections. I am very fair, so I use the fairest glow color. It is also available in 6 colors, so there is a color for just about everyone.
When I’m in the shower, I shave my legs and then use a sugar scrub to exfoliate my legs. After I get out of the shower, I moisturize with a body oil followed by some Lubaderm body lotion because I tend to be as dry as a crocodile. After about an hour or so and my skin has absorbed all the moisture, I lay an old towel down on the floor before I use the Salley Hansen spray. I then spray it on my legs and rub it in with my hand’s just like I did with the moisturizer. Then, I hit any spots that need more coverage until I think the cover looks even. Then I let it dry for a while before getting dressed for about 30 minutes. It will last me two or three days if I do not wash my legs in the shower with soap or a washcloth and then gently pat them dry.
