Venus On-trend Fashion: Weekend In Downtown Riverside

Hello, Fashionistas!

This past weekend my hubby and I stayed at The Mission Inn Hotel in downtown Riverside. The Mission Inn has always been a favorite place for us. Its especially dear to our hearts because for a little over 20 years we owned a historical landmark home called Ridge Court in downtown Riverside that was designed by the same architect G Stanley Willson, who was one of the main architects on the Mission Inn. We sold our 107-year-old family home in December of 2015 and downsized to a smaller log home in the mountains In Green Valley Lake, just above Lake Arrowhead in The San Bernardino mountains.  We very much miss our historical mission style home we so lovingly restored and cared for over 20 plus years! We raised our two sons in this home, Our oldest son was married in the courtyard, grandchildren were born there, and many happy holidays were shared. Now when we visit the Mission Inn, it reminds us of our home and surrounds us with the beautiful architecture we used to be so fortunate to live with every day. For some of you who have expressed interest in our old home, I will post some photos at the very bottom of this blog if you’re still interested.

We also visited the Riverside Art Museum for some nostalgic fun before eating lunch at an old favorite, Simple Simons in the Main Street Plaza next to the Mission Inn. It’s simply the best bakery and sandwich shop you will ever have the pleasure of visiting!

All Three of my Outfits for the weekend were sent to me from one of my favorite online stores Venus.com. The first was this great pair of distressed medium wash high waisted jeans, an off the shoulder striped top with a tied waist detail, cute cropped jean jacket, and some clear rock stud style sandals. Early that morning when we left our snowy cabin, I styled this outfit with some white booties then as the day in Riverside warmed up, I put on the sandals and took off the jacket. This outfit only needed a cute pair of blue Sugar Fix earrings from Target to complete the look! To shop this look, I will leave all the info below.

The second outfit Venus sent me was this yellow spring floral off the shoulder dress and strappy nude heels that I changed into for an early dinner in the Mission Inn courtyard. We so loved our courtyard at our home in Riverside, and enjoy that same kind of atmosphere whenever the opportunity arises.

The third outfit Venus sent me was this asymmetrical short in the front long in the back floral and stripe top, with black suede mules and the cutest clear heel. I only needed my black leggings and a cute pair of statement earrings from Bauble Bar to complete this look. We had a great morning having breakfast and wandering through some old favorite shops, before catching a movie and heading back up the mountain to go home. I remember the old feeling of returning home to our historical house after having spent time at The Mission Inn thinking how blessed we were to have the privilege of caring for and living in a place that was just as beautifully designed as the Mission Inn. We adore spending time at The Historical Mission Inn as It always makes us feel like we have returned home again!
